What is Huyton Deanery Academy?

Back in 2018 Huyton Deanery Synod made a commitment to encouraging churches to work more collaboratively together, so that each church, parish, 'fresh expression' and school would an encouragement and resource to each other. Part of this commitment was driven by a desire to make possible those things a church working on their own would find it impossible to resource.

Huyton Deanery Academy is our main strategy for resourcing the people of Huyton Deanery with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to thrive as disciples of Jesus Christ.

The academy operates from multiple locations around the deanery and throughout the year

Our intention is to have 'rolling' courses on growing in faith, prayer and Bible study at all times. Recent examples include a Romans Course, Prayer Course and 321 course.

In addition there are training events provided regularly on church administration and management, other practical ministries (including compliance training), evangelism, children's and young people's ministry and so much more.

We often work in partnership with trusted external training providers and we are constantly encouraged by feedback from academy events which confirms not only that they are useful and enjoyable but delivered to a consistently high standard.

Huyton Deanery Academy is open to all members of the deanery at no cost, however should a place be booked but not filled on the day there may be a fee chargeable to cover the costs involved.
